Does anyone own a boat?

Own 4 boats. Live on a Key.

Go 100+ miles out into ocean. Shark, mahi, grouper, tuna, ect.

Island hopping, booze cruising, fucken life.

Meanwhile on the SS Big Will....

Love the summer boating lifestyle. I'm a water skier though. My goal is to pick up a nice Response by next summer.

Just sold my speedboat, I know no one fucking cares.

Will be buying a bigger fishing boat soon.

My family was big into boats in my childhood. Tons of repairs, lots of time in the driveway. Overall, when most people buy a boat they think they'll use it WAY more than they actually do use it.

The math on ownership vs renting doesn't work out at all. That 1 time a year or whatever you go to some lake for vacation - just rent a boat & eat the cost. Dealing with repairs/fees/price tag is crazy in comparison.

The thing is with renting there really isn't that much available for water sports. At least in my experience.

For examples for Jet Skis I've always looked at renting and it's usually POS ones that are slow and you've got to stay within view of the place renting them to you pretty much. Does not even come close to my friends I rode on last weekend that will throw you straight off if you aren't careful with the throttle.

So I can certainly see why people like to own nice stuff even if they don't use it often - renting really isn't an alternative if you want something beyond the KIA of watercraft.

If anyone knows of a way to rent awesome watercraft please enlighten me.

I thought about buying a boat, but I found it's more efficient to just walk up to the ocean and empty my wallet into it.

Unless you do all your own work. I did a complete rebuild on my starboard motor last month. Rewarding, fun.

No, but I heard Wolfie has one.

"My first day taking her out"

Yeah, cause it's a rental while your on vacation in Mexico or somewhere. "Look at me, I'm mister rich Wall St man with my new boat", with some poor shanty town in the background as a skyline.

Sucks for you that Perkins Cole is saying you own that boat, and they're suing you to the tune of probably around $1.8 million once everything is said and done.
