Does anyone know if google checks the ip you use adwords editor from and use that information to link accounts together and thus ban accounts?

Definitely far away from being white as snow. Yeah I figured whether they do or don't it really isn't worth the risk to find out. I know for a fact that they have used gmail logins to track IP's and linked and banned adwords accounts for it.

For my shady projects I have a separate laptop, completely formatted, with only windows+adwords editor in it. Running on a dynamic IP, I use gmail accounts created by third parties...I have proofs that they track login IPs.

Get an MCC account.

I have thought about that many times but that makes me nervous too. When I was a consultant I got my adwords account banned for logging into a clients adwords account to help him one time. I didn't use MCC and I don't think it was even an option at the time.

So next question is has anyone ever had any problems with them linking accounts or banning etc while using MCC?

i have 9 accounts under my mcc - been running them for 6 months - all linked to the same credit card. no problems

at the end of the day thats what mccs are there for, managing multiple accounts. so if google hassles me i'd say i manage multiple clients and am not at liberty to divulge client details. they pay me direct and i act on there behalf.

i'm careful not to hit the same keyword twice though (unless its a different product) etc. use your common sense on this one.

where i find the mcc most useful is i have one account for content network campaigns (which is handy cos they all bomb lol) another for testing and one for my high volume campaigns that i move the winners over too.

hope that helps

I got several acc banned when i was trying to mess some cloaking with them(when i was a noob). I barely got them back. You'd better not messing with big G. They track everything.

I have a few friends who've had them for a long time with no problems. I setup a 2nd account a few months ago without any questions being asked.

But as itchy said make sure you're not doing anything stupid like double serving on the same keywords/urls and have a "legit" reason if they ever question you like itchy suggested.
