Is it at all profitable to use traffic exchanges, safelists, and downline builders for affiliate offers?

I would really like to hear of your experience.

not at all. Stay away from traffic exchanges/bulk traffic buying. You'll burn through your cash for absolutely no returns

That is true, and I've also heard that Google don't allow these marketing strategy especially traffic buying. You're site could end up being banned and this is the least you need on your link building campaign.

Only if you're trying to sell an e-book about how to make money online to people who are trying ton make money online, but chances are they won't have any money.

I think the technical term for this kind of traffic is "Warrior Circle Jerk"

I don't think so... but I think they'd dig biz opp shit... I'm guilty of doing that before..

you could also try pushing some guru launches and get yourself some nice prizes for the leads you send them... make sure to get them on your list as well
