Doing IM from Phuket



Wow.. Phuket... Thats the place I want to see Sand, Sea, Sun and Surf the Net.. I hop the day will come soon!
 
Many stories like that. It's the way business disputes are usually handled especially between expats involved in the real estate biz in Phuket. There is just way to much illegal money to be made scamming idiot foreigners who want to own property there, which they can't anyway since Thai land laws prohibit it so they do a long term lease what a joke.
 
The killings aren't done by the people getting scammed. They are done by competitors in the business.

Is rent really that bad? I've been looking around online and everything I've seen seems cheap as hell for the quality. With that being said, I currently live in Philadelphia, so there are definitely cheaper places to live in the US. But, I feel like I could get about 2x the quality of my Philly place at a cheaper price in Bangkok. I'm talking a modern and furnished one bedroom (but not studio) for $500/month, not some huge place.
