so I was looking our my list of registered domains and saw that the first domain I registered was missing so I emailed name.com and get a responce a day later saying they had no domain by that name in their system nor had their every been, so I sent them a copy of the email saying it was transferred to them and a copy of my transfer page in my name.com account. They then wrote back to me and said I transfered it out 6 months ago. I then wrote back to them saying I never did and there is no history of me transferring any domain out of my name.com account nor did i get an email saying I requested a transfer, they wrote back to me saying its been over 6 months and I should talk to the new registrar netlynx.com and see what they say or pay $1300 to icann and see if they will do anything other then that they can no longer help me.

This is one of my main sites I am still using I am still hosting the e-shop i just dont own the domain anymore. I would of thought if my name was stolen I would no longer have a hosted store.

anyway I am still bitching at name.com as there is no history in my account of me every asking to unlock or transfer this domain and I will see what they say.

Anyone else have any ideas what to do??

yeah thats because my shop it still there.
my shop is still there I am still updating it through my host I had no idea it was gone.

not very happy as they are giving me the brush off, I have asked for some more information will wait and see if they help me or now.

I know this but if I dont get an email from name.com and my site is still up and running how am I going to know? I have a lot of domains.

They are telling me it's not their problem and it's not up to them to let me know if someone is transferring my domain it's up to the other registrar so contact them or file with ICANN that will cost $1300.00 what a crock of shit. Maybe I should transfer name.com into my name if it's that easy.

You probably let it expire. Do a whois lookup on it and see.

I have former owners raging at me all the time when I pick up dropcatches.

No it was still registered for another few months expires in 3months now its been transferred its got another two years. Name.com agrees that they transferred it to a new registrar it didnt expire

Info is hidden, the domain is still pointing to my e-store thats why i didnt know it was stolen.

So it took you 6 months to figure out that one of your main domains were missing?

That does happen, though, especially if it weren't so necessarily "obvious". I got
a few of those in my ex-registrar life.

The problem here is proving the domain name's indeed been stolen or hijacked in
the first place, especially if a lot of time (say, six months) has passed. It's much
easier to fix if it's found out sooner like a few days after the incident, and it gets
a tad harder if longer than, say, a month.

With the domain name since transferred to another registrar, that makes fixing it
even more difficult, if not impossible. In essence, registrars rely on relationships
formed among one another to fix them. (e.g. you help me recover this name, and
I'll do the same for you if ever...)

Regrettably, OP, I don't really have any suggestions to offer other than to be as
persistent as you can be, and ask the new registrar how to demonstrate your
claims while mentioning you already talked to Name.com about it. Good luck.

Thanks for the info the new registrar has not gotten back to me yet i will keep on being a pain.

It looks like whoever did it had access to your email account and probably gathered your registrar credentials from that. They must know your password, so what's to say name.com didn't email you and the culprit has deleted any relevant transfer emails before you saw them? Just goes to show everyone needs to keep a close eye on domains, and passwords.

Name.com says they dont email the client who is transferring the domain out of their name.com account. Icann tells me that its been over 6months so they cant help anyway. Also the domain has been moved two more time to two other people so i guess its a real pain in the ass
