 Magic Hat Review
OK, so I just got my report from Darrin. Overall, I am very happy with this service. It's one of those things that I would feel confident in using this service directly on my money sites, whereas when you do blog commenting and other forms of link building (mini nets, etc), you have some risk in linking directly to your site. Of course, there is potentially risk involved with any form of link building like this, but the work was done in such a way to look very natural.
The articles were pretty good. Certainly not magazine quality, but they were spun and passed copyscape. Some of the articles had some inconsistencies (as far as syntax), but Darrin was able to quickly fix them. That's the great thing about working with Darrin, since he is an SEO himself (not just some outsource guy), if you have any problems or questions, he can properly advise you. Darrin also has a really cool project management system that he uses to post your reports and keep you updated along the process.
What You Get
23 web properties with 5 posts/articles each (115 total articles)
3 links in each article (345 links)
5 Scribd and 5 Docstoc articles w/ links
RSS Feed submissions for each
Master report with web 2.0 properties, links to each article, RSS feeds, usernames and passwords for each account created
My only question is the naming conventions used in creating some of the Web 2.0 properties. It seems like some of the kw's could have been used in the creation of these properties.
What it's Good For
This is an advanced link building technique that could be used to boost your site over a hump (for example, if you are stuck at #5, and want to break into the top 3, or if you are stuck on page 3-4 and want to get to page 1). I would probably wait a few months to use this package on a brand new site, but it could definitely help get a new site ranked very quickly. Would recommend building some article links, directories, and other authority site links in congruence with this package.
Final Verdict
Of course, it's hard to fully review this without seeing the results, but from everything I have seen, I am pretty confident this service will generate some nice rankings for my site. Compared to other services, it is a bit pricey, however I have learned (sometimes the hard way) that you get what you pay for. Those of you with potentially large earning affiliate sites (especially autoblogs), and even client sites who are demanding first page results, will find use in this service. The articles weren't magazine quality, but again, they were passable for this purpose. Darrin is great at communicating and keeping you updated. One other thing I forgot to mention: the content is formatted in each posted article. Added are photos, headlines, etc. So it looks very natural, the articles aren't just pasted in.
