Trespassing is a criminal offense, by doing so the person trespassing has put you and your family at risk.

Sure is, but walking up to a house and knocking on the door is not trespassing. Point of fact, in many jurisdictions, I can enter an unlocked home without trespassing.

Signs do not make it illegal to knock on a door. A sidewalk or a driveway leading to a home create an easement. In addition a barrier must typically exist in order to mark the boundaries. Even in Florida, you are not legally allowed to remove someone from property or outbuildings with force.
