I don't know how many of you guys are into standup comedy, but I can't get enough.

So far, my top 5 are:

1. Louis CK
2. Bill Burr
3. George Carlin
4. Richard Pryor
5. Doug Stanhope.

Out of all them, Stanhope is king. He's undoubtedly one of the most underrated comedians alive today.

Make no mistake, Doug is a bitter, angry, alcoholic fuck. His views reveal the "dark side" of libertarianism for sure, and his libertine lifestyle remains unmatched by most comedians.

I saw him live around a year ago. I like a lot of his stuff, his set was pretty good, obviously testing out new material. He was on for around 2 hours, a lot longer than I expected.

He ended up buying me and some friends like 6 rounds of Jager after the show. He was pretty cool, but also kind of a dick in person. That may have just been him being sick of fans constantly harassing him, probably tired and drunk too.

He was also kind of a strange dude, but I've found that most comics are pretty far out there.

Overall it was a good time, and it was pretty fun getting drunk with him after the show. We offered to buy, he wasn't having any of that. I'm guessing he had an open tab as part of the deal. I'd definitely recommend checking him out - he was the first and only comic I've bothered to go see live.

I've heard from another guy that met him afterwards and he keeps up with the act of being an asshole even after the show lol.

Jim Jefferies is a bit of on Aussie loudmouth (Uses Cunt too much, not that I find it offensive as a Brit), but the story about taking the disabled kid to a brothel was brilliantly funny. Think it was alcoholocaust.

Agree with some of these... I'm lacking time credit the stuff I like right now, but the Black Phillip show is some of the best shit ever, if you're interested in hilarious real life social dynamics between men and women. (some applies to gays too, I'm sure...)

I caught a show a year ago and talked to him a bit afterward and he was super nice. He even took a picture with me. Maybe cause I bought a t-shirt? lol. His gf Bingo is super cool, too. Also a little crazy. She showed me and my gf how underneath her crazy furry suspender pants she was wearing Doug's pajama pants.
