Dreamweaver alternative?

Yeah I don't really use windows but the op said he did. I like my Gedit with dark tango theme and regex plugin.

Netbeans is wrote in Java and runs on any OS that supports Java. So that's like every OS out there.
 


You could also try TextPad. It is lame compared to DW but it does highlight some of the reserved words, at least for HTML stuff. Best of all, it's free and is extremely useful for other various kinds of text editing. Try turning off WordWrap, then right click and enable Block Select Mode. Can be useful.
 
Aptana Studio if you need an open source alternative. Komodo IDE if you want to spend some $ for great software.

In addition to having plugins for strong python and ruby support, and even PHP thanks to being built on eclipse, it also comes with the best HTML/CSS/structured-text editor I've used (other than vim/emacs :-p). My only gripe is that I just haven't found a good Vim-embed plugin for the editor yet :(
