drop shipping and collecting sales tax?

anyone have any advice on this? I was reading that you needed to collect sale tax on people purchasing within your own state, but otherwise you dont have to.
Im just getting setup and have only done about 5 transactions, but i just got a letter from the State Board of Equalization saying i need to register and send some information to them.

I think you would need to collect tax on sales from people in california if thats where your business is located

From what i have heard you need to collect tax from sales within your own state or where your company is registered, if someone buys online its their responsibility to pay for the sales tax....

yeah its just from within your own state. If you don't have a sales tax in your state you don't have to collect from anyone
