As far as I'm concerned, 18 year-olds that go fight for their country are IGNORANT CHILDREN who were basically BRAINWASHED to think it's a good idea and they'll be honorable and patriotic for doing so.

Of course he was a bumbling idiot at the time. We were all bumbling idiots at that age and stage in our lives, and in his case the timing was perfect for a "perfect wave" of propaganda to come flooding his way and influence his decision to enlist far more than usual.

Just like you and I though, he'd learned a lot over the last decade. Don't hate on him now; he may have been far smarter than you at the time of his death.
