Giladg, i think you misunderstood me. As an employer yes you have to have their social security number. As a potential employee you do not have to give them your social. For instance if someone came into my office and filled out an app but left the social blank. I will end up asking them for their social. I could not hire them if they did not give it to me, but i also could not force the potential employee to give me their social. Legally they don't have to give it to me at all. Only the government has 100% rights to your ss#.

DBA don't typically get eins. You need an actual license to get an EIN(i could be wrong). So i guess my answer to that would be... no.

Its just another name to put your account under(the payee name). but i'll have to ask my cpa about that one. Fuck he's probably getting sick of these type of questions by now :)

btw while we're on the topic of CPAs I would like to share some great advice i got when i was first starting my business on finding one. It came from a friend of mine whos a financial planner.
Ask them this simple question:

What would you do if the irs sent back a correction on my tax filings?
Wrong answer: I would fix the mistake
Right answer: I would take them to court at my own expense and prove I'm right.

i got banned and reapplied using my wife's contact info. i did however use the same bank account number for wiring the money and thats where they said the account had been previously diabled and they closed it down again.
