Hey all!
Our office is suffering from a slow task completion rate, and I feel a lot of that has to do with how outdated our network system is. People often fail to recognize the latest version of an important SOP (due to how no one follows the rules about properly naming files) and sometimes, we even lose track of which PDF has been recently tampered with and is ready for sending, so we end up completing some of the tasks twice... Plus, since a month ago, three of our members started working remotely, and this further slows us down...

So, I'm looking for a Win 10 compatible DMS (document management software) tool that will act as a single directory with a clean, hierarchal order. Cloud-sharing is an important feature for us, and we're also looking for PDF-editing capabilities, version control, and built-in OCR.

All recommendations are welcome, thanks!

Haha those hardships sound familiar to me, somehow... Yeah, implementing a DMS seems like the right move there. I've tried several over the years, so take a look into these: M-Files, NetDocuments, and FileCenter. I never had trouble installing any of these, but of course, your team will have to spend some time learning how to properly use the software after settling for one. It becomes second nature fast, though, and honestly, I don't know how we got anything done before installing an app of this type.
As for the functions you've listed, I think all of these check those boxes and also work seamlessly with the Windows database (you can read more about how DMS tools work here), which makes a difference when it comes to the average speed of document retrieval. Some of them might come with a free trial as well, you'll have to be on the lookout there. Hope this helps!

Thanks you for taking a look! Very much appreciate your practical advice! Will start comparing those apps soon!
