That fee ($0.35) would cover a 30-day listing and could include multiple items; sellers had previously paid fees between 35 cents and $4 per item for a week.

The company will still take a cut of the final value of goods sold. Most of these fees increased to offset the lowered insertion fee. These "final value" fees can range from 6% to 15% for most items.

The most that an epn sale would lose is $2 per transaction and only on the store items. The final value fee is still in effect.

Speaking as a guy in the financial industry it has been rumored for some time that eBay has to make some moves because they are falling behind the curve a bit. The other big news that make shake the company up is the rumor that Meg Whitman (CEO, eBay) will get strong consideration to run on McCains ticket as the VP nominee.

From the article:

It looks like everything will stay about the same to me...

Last time I checked they are cutting the listing fee by however much but they are increasing the final sale fee so it offsets the listing fee decrease AND THEN some.

oh shit, my bad should have read rookies post. The same thing I said.

It's the same thing every time they announce a fee "cut" - increasing the final sale cost. People are onto this con and I don't think it's going to help them.

I loved eBay in 1998 when I first signed up. Downhill all the way now. When did they peak?
