eBay Scammer... advice?

LOL, I told him I was gonna report the phones serial number to the cops and since it has a GPS in it they would be able to find whoever has the phone. Now he's sorta begging to call me so we can resolve this over the phone... this could be hilarious if it plays out in my favor.

Wow some ghetto retard probably on food stamps trying to rip you off, that sucks.

Do you have your shipping receipt? This will display weight and cost of shipment.

Yeah his address ends with "Apt. F" if that tells you anything.

Your name was Raymond K. Hessel on your driver’s license. You live at 1320 SE Benning, apartment A. That had to be a basement apartment. They usually give basement apartments letters instead of numbers.

^^ Good.
Next time, make sure to note down the IMEI number of the phone, before doing any transactions like this.

I talked to the guy this morning on the phone, a ghetto ass dude in the "projects" of Saint Louis, MO. He kept saying "I dunt got da fone mannee, I wan't muh monies back" I called him a liar and told him that I was gonna call the cops and when they trace the phone with the GPS then I would send it to him after the police arrested the theif. He was like "dat at neccessorry brotha, I jus wan muh monies back" Anyway after dealing with this cunt for like an hour I hung up on him and called Paypal and they released the funds, got "muh monies"

Nice going, and the GPS angle was very clever.

I called the toll free Paypal number listed on Paypalsucks.com and told them that they were holding my funds, but the tracking number shows as delivered. They verified the tracking number and released the funds right there on the phone. I did a page refresh and withdrew it to my account. Pretty simple. The dumbass screwed up and filed a dispute with eBay and not Paypal. Paypal didn't have a clue that there was a dispute on ebay.

Great work. Nice to hear that you got your funds released. I got scammed for $15 through eBay 5 months ago, signature was not required. He closed his eBay account and the money got taken from my Paypal account. I received the final value fee from eBay but never got my money back from Paypal. I rang Paypal and there is nothing I could do, even though he was obviously a scammer that had 0 feedback.

In this case, customer stupidity was the OP's friend, yet there are smarter scammers. Who here is still selling on ebay? I have to sell about 5 items there, and bracing myself for the next one. Nowadays I just give stuff away when I used to sell them on ebay.

I sell about 30 items / day on ebay / amazon / other sources. I must say that amazon is by far the worst with the number of chargebacks. From people saying the box was empty, to rocks, to bubblegum, everything but their product. Amazon also has the worst seller protection.

Surprisingly I have found ebay / pp to have the best seller protection. They have taken care of me every time, when someone does a chargeback. Probably 25-30 last year, I showed delivery proof, won every single one. Amazon.... lost too many to count, plus it kills my seller rating when someone files a a-z claim, or chargeback.

I don't sell electronics, but I tried to sell my laptop on ebay when I bought a new one. First person didn't pay. 2nd person didn't pay. 3rd person said it's broken because they couldn't get their wireless to work, they sent it back. 4th person didn't pay. People asking me to ship it to africa, south america, ect. I lost about 40$ and a month trying to sell this thing. I ended up selling it locally.

I guess the point is... I hate ebay's fee's but they move volume for me, and their seller protection has been amazing. However trying to sell electronics is probably not the best idea.
