editing htaccess files

In an effort to speed up my site, I have been dong testing and one of the things that comes up always is leverage browser cache.

My current one looks like this i.e now caching at all:

This is the code I want to put in:

My quesion is where does it go exactly - Yes I know that is probably the dumbest question ever asked?

Should it look like this:

Dumb I know, but I would really like some help on this one.

Okay, think I have worked it out. Seems it just goes at the top of all the code. Hope that is right.
