if you value the free communication that's helped you get to where you are today, you should help.
if you value the money you've made and the lifestyle you have thanks to open and unregulated internets, you need to help.
if you have any desire to hold onto the freedoms you have now, you will help thousands by providing a tor exit node.
especially if you've got a server or five at your disposal.

https://www.torproject.org/about/overview

even if all you've got is your home cable connection and a laptop, you can provide a way for egyptians to see and share WTF is going on.
it takes less than fifteen minutes, even if you've never set up a proxy before.

whoever and wherever you are, you might need the same one day.

no they're down. with the exception of traffic running to their financial exchange via noor group. but all routes leading in are down (that have been reported.. i'm sure there are a few up directly for inv. firms but even then they'd be closely guarded and prob not turned on till actually needed by the market)...

God I love disobedience against fascists. Good Luck to Egyptians and to a better future for them.

those reports are half true half wrong... one group decided to not join the brotherhood + go a lil earlier to face off the cops/mil.. they're being tear gassed right now.... sat. apparnetly has been confirmed as being turned back on to a public use where if u have a phone in the city of cairo u can get basic gps.

Now this is a real example of people needing to stand up for themselves. Best of luck to the Egyptians

I havent even been paying attention to this or heard about it till yesterday. Anyone got any cliff notes on whats going on and why?

sounds like had Friday prayer and protesters started getting beat back by "police" with tear gas and rubber bullets and its growing from there. People have had enough of there governement and are trying to take back control. Thats my take on the cliff notes

This is seriously big news... here is the raw footage from Associated Press of the sniped man: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XnhHzs91MY]YouTube - Raw Video: Man Shot in Egypt Protest[/ame]

Mubarak makes me sick.

Why the fuck the Egypt government is banning Internet?

Obviously because protesters are organizing themselves through the internet!

And Mubarak just wants them all to lay down while he creams off the riches for himself. Like he's done for the PAST 30 YEARS.

Then, protesters will use telephone and telephone will be banned next!

This shit is getting crazy. Sounds like there is a confirmed police station has been burned down. They have taken several armored vehicles and burned them to the ground. The longer this goes on the harder for the "regime" to stay in power. Hopefully they dont have a lot of people get hurt. Nevele thanks for posting the Al Jazeera feed its a real eye opener
