EU Robs the Bank In Cyprus - Coming to the USA Too?

On the contrary, it would be a glorious victory for the occupiers and there would be dancing (and structure fires) in the streets.

If you're referring to the occupy movement people, I'd say that in general they would only support this if it was only being done to the "1%", and then only if they were confident that the money would go at least semi-directly to the "99%", instead of being used to prop up banks and such.

Bailout, Austerity, Confiscation: Cyprus Reveals the 3rd Phase of the Great Bank Robbery | Scriptonite Daily

The productive capability of the 99% and the real economy have been subordinated to service the debt of the banking sector of the 1%. But with Cyprus, they have crossed the rubicon: a direct confiscation of personal, private wealth from your bank account to bail out banks...

The global 99% need to watch the developments in Cyprus very closely. The government of Cyprus passing this measure will mean the effective end of private wealth for the 99%. It sets the precedent of governments legislating away a person’s right to their own money, at the direct request of this renegade banking system.

They're already doing this in America by printing $85 billion per month in cash to purchase Treasuries while keeping interest rates at essentially zero, thus diluting the value of every dollar saved in a bank over time while simultaneously ensuring that the banks don't have to pay anything for it.

It's essentially the same net result, just stretched out over a longer period and done in a way that the average person with a bank account can't comprehend.

brah US will hit soon even worse.

also understand 1 thing - CY had 0 tax for foreginers and 10% for natives.
how much do u pay to gov in taxes? ;)

And let's not forget that Americans have a tax on their worldwide income whereas EU citizens have plenty of options if they decide to move to a low tax jurisdiction.

xpathfucker what you say is pretty funny because the only citizens who are getting a worse deal than EU citizens are Americans. You guys don't even have public health care and pay massive taxes. But please go ahead and continue to puff up your chest and tell us how great it is to be an Merican.

Who said I was comparing Americans and Europeans. WTF? What do I care about that?

I just implied that it's becoming fucked up to be hit all the time with more and more taxes (I live in a country that is being "helped" by the IMF, so you bet I'm being fucked up in my taxes).

I wouldn't bet on that. I'd say that some people would be pissed, most people would say they're just pitching in their fair share for the good of the economy.

Our Government does a lot worse to us and no one says shit about it.

It will be interesting to see when/if a tipping point will occur here in "the land of the free."

People in this country can't even talk openly about how they're getting fucked over becase they are too afraid that it won't be socially acceptable, no matter where the fuck they are or what the fuck they're doing. Everyone would rather push the problem under the rug.

So if they can't even talk about the problem in a group setting, how can there be any movement for change? I'm guessing nothing will happen until there's a few bank runs. Then you'll see another 'Occupy' movement with a lot of useless banner waiving.

Thing is, it's gonna take a lot more than that to recitify the situation.
