So I needed some information compiled for me.. a list of about 60 events and all of their corresponding dates/times/countries/state..etc, was going to be somewhat of a pain and fairly time consuming so I didn't feel like fucking with it today. I posted the job for $25, and this Indian girl (no shit) who was new to the site with zero jobs bid $2.... I thought it was a typo, so I wrote to her and explained that the job wasn't as simple as it seemed, but she said she would do it for 2 fucking dollars lol. She did a killer job too, far more than what I needed or would have done myself, so I ended up paying her the full $25, and she acted as if she just won the lotto or something. So grateful.

Makes you kinda feel sorry for the little engrish speaking bastards.

Feel sorry? No way, you're creating employment. Enjoy it while it lasts, it won't be like this forever.
 
1. Post job on freelancer asking for articles, applicants must submit a short demo on a topic of your choosing.

2. Get 10-20 people bidding and writing articles on whatever subject you choose.

3. Articles for micro site done for free.

4. ???

OP doesn't realize that his random "act of kindness" ensured that the girl from ODesk didn't have to suck cock in the alley that day. However, out of those 12 guys that weren't able to release in her mouth, one of them was so stressed out that he went home and murdered his wife and kids.

Nearly everything we buy is produced in countries where labor is paid this kind of rate per hour. I don't see how buying articles, research or whatever from an Indian as any different.
 
Yeah people often underbid. Its kinda funny at times. I had a job at $150 and ended up hiring a guy from sri lanka for like $25 lol. he did a great job too

it's not any different.. Jesus, I wan't going on some the world is shit and unjust rant, and will continue to hire $3 hour workers. Just sayn, it would suck balls..felt like being nice and hooked the bitch up. Made her day, didn't cost me shit. That's it. Not tryn to change the world here.

But now I have the blood of a dead family on my hands... heavy burden. I didn't understand the implications of my actions. RIP to the Patel family.

Why don't you post her Odesk profile and help her out even more? (I'm sure many here could use a reliable VA)
 
i feel bad for people who have such a twisted sense of justice, they negotiate a "good deal" and then overpay because they felt like taking advantage of the poor 3rd world guy.

she wanted that job and made a bid nobody would top. she won. in her world, shes a shark. you sending her more money than she agreed to invalidates her success. go buy some fair trade chocolate.

That doesn't invalidate shit. Ever thought that maaaaybe she's smart and she realized if she did a great job and was severely underpaid she'd build a massive client list + the possibility for upsells and higher wages. Her attitude is exactly why sellers on fiverr, etc... make so much more than the $5
