Ever fire your entire staff? I just did.

finding good employees has always been one of my biggest issues.

I've tried everything. I've over paid people. I've been easy on them, I've been tough on them. I've offered them performance based bonuses which could have made them far more than they deserve.

People suck. They don't show up. They fuck up. They don't care.

Anyways, to answer your question, I don't think much of foreign workers. My experience with them has not been good either. The only time people seem to work is when you're in the room with them.

Damn I'm jaded as shit.

Fuck that, I'd've (good contraction) fired his ass too. 1 week for 10 weeks ... If it weren't for how important he is to you, and the other guys leaving, I'd've (again) still considered it when he came back and said 2 weeks.

I'm no hard ass but shit, you've got a business to run.
That's true, but in the long run, its better to grab ankles and just take it.

I learned a couple years ago that what was really holding me back was the need to cut off my nose to spite my face. Once I got over that, things became a lot easier.

Making money and doing what is fair are usually two completely separate gigs.

The problem is that he was my main level one support guy (sales and support) and I just started to really advertise in a bunch of places (like reddit sponsored links). Chris is one of the main reasons I started advertising... He needed more money for Christmas and told him I could bring in more clients if he could handle it. I wouldn't have even bothered with all this advertising if it wasn't for him.

And then he tells me today that he needs 10 weeks off? And what does he need these 10 weeks for? A trip to Mexico of course. Maybe it's just me, but a one week notice, the day after I launch a bunch of ad campaigns for his benefit, isn't cool. Especially when he knows that it's going to leave me working 24 hour days until I find (and train) more people.

Damn, man! Watch what you're saying... that's too much info about your employee's personal business. Airing laundry is not cool and could come back to bite you. Even if you left out the name, there's enough of us who could figure out the employee you're talking about. Tread lightly... for your own interest.

Secondly, I would have felt more comfortable knowing that you were looking at outsourcing support because you've been successful and it's getting difficult to keep prices where they are and continue to grow w/ US labor. Spin it. Instead I'm reading about my host turning into a one man shop...

I agree, in the past I've seen some small business owners sink because regular customers knew too much bout the internal affairs of the business.

Yeah honestly I'd go to a shop that was more professional than this.

Let me be clear, my experience with zensix has been nothing but fantastic. I appreciate the support I have received and the professional service. No need for a dogpile. I was just saying...

For those of you worried that I posted information about him on here, don't be. I told him I was going to rant about him on WF and he suggested I post a poll, lol. He lives about 60 seconds from me and I see him almost every day... So it's not like he's just some random employee.

I don't want to say too much because my referral can be a jinx, but Subigo is top notch. I hope he can scale out without losing much quality, because his support is pretty kickass, and I really, really appreciate it. I've had hosting for 9 years with a dozen vendors, and the only one I can compare with Z6 is Softlayer.
