And a quick note... A lot of people have been signing up for UNMANAGED plans and then sending in tickets like "can you install X and do X for me"... Remember, unmanaged doesn't include support. We handle the NODE uptime and hardware... everything about the vps is supported by YOU.

Another quick note... If you sign up for the unmanaged VPS-1u plan and use the coupon code in the first post, your first month will only be $8.70.

I'm a user of the VPS-2u plan, upgraded shortly after getting a 1u, wanted a tad more memory. Originally I had two VPS from Knownhost, a VS2-tx and VS3-tx, the first one was my own personal VPS, no control panel, running nginx webserver, etc. And the second for any friends or clients I host on the usual whm/cpanel setup.

Well Knownhost doesn't give you a price break from their base price for unmanaged packages, and if you don't pay 5$ more for Directadmin or Cpanel, etc, you don't get the fully managed support anyways. Only reason I didn't switch the second VPS over is primarily because most on it are used to Cpanel, and the hosting on that side pays for itself from the dues.

Zensix on the other hand as you can see above, does indeed give you a price break for unmanaged servers. So if you're one of those folks who can manage manage a server without the need of a web-based control panel then could definitely save a bit of coin with the unmanaged services.

So I switched my personal VPS over to ZenSix. Other than a very very tiny latency difference, I'm now paying about 25$ less for virtually the same thing now, and got it all setup and running now. Came with CentOS, and I can reload x64 or 32bit without having to bug support for it.

But support/sales when needed, such as when I wanted to go ahead and upgrade from VPS1u to 2u, was responsive, and english-speaking (hehe). The upgrade itself was immediate with no downtime at all.

I've tried other 'affordable' VPS providers over the past several months and they either had terrible support, poor VPS configuration, poor latency/speed, network droppage and so forth. So in the realms of 10 to 40$ a month for a VPS the best hosts I've run across thus far was ZenSix and KnownHost, and as I said before if I wasn't too lazy to move, I'd have both of my accounts at ZenSix.
 
You have good deals. Any plans to get dedicateds? And can you get different c blocks for the extra ips?

I have a handful of clients with dedicated servers through us, but I don't really have any plans to offer them publicly right now. As for IPs on different c blocks, not normally. We have to use an entire block on each of our servers before we can get another block, and we only have one server that's even close to using them all. That and the fact that our datacenter is really starting to crack down on spam and they are bumping up their requirements to get any IPs at all.

We've hit our max on the amount of clients we can accept for that $15 management promo. If you submit a ticket to our sales department we can put you on the waiting list.

On a side note...

Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to thank everyone who signed up for shared hosting accounts over the past two years... but as of today, I'm getting out of the shared hosting game to focus solely on vps hosting. If you have a shared hosting account, you can keep it until you decide to stop paying (of course we're still supporting the shared clients we already have), but as of right now we will no longer accept any new shared hosting customers. :smilie_weihn_winki:
 
If anyone is wanting a fully managed vps, get it now. We've already discontinued our shared hosting services, and as soon as I finish this new design for the site, the managed plans will go as well (we will be offering semi-managed / un-managed).
