Hey,

I read $20/day with Adsense | Make Money with Adsense | Adsense Tips & Tricks a while ago and decided I would try it. I mean why not?

So tonight I set up a wordpress blog and installed all the necessary plugins on it, and put up a nice template.

My first article is a "top 11 case mods" list.

Anyway, I started this thread to keep you guys updated on how it's going. I'm going to shoot for a couple posts a week if I can....hopefully I'll get a readership going and not be banned by digg. :D
 


I think one of the images I found might have been from there. I'm kind of disappointed in this post just because I didn't get as "into it" as I could have - it just didn't peak my interest enough.
 
im going to start a video site based on that poost in a few weeks too. Good luck with your picture site. If you want to start a "digg ring", pm me your msn :).
 
Isn't 9 diggs in 24 hours good considering you just started the blog and one post in the blog.

Did you have traffic coming to the blog? Or are the 9 diggs just coming from webmasters here. Why not try submitting to some blog directories.

All I did was submit to digg and post this. The 13 diggs from last night's sex appeal post are almost all natural except for a few here at WF. I think I will try the blog directories.

Hey should you have that "creative sex appeal advertisements" in your title ?
Shouldn't it appear a bit in your blog page too? ie image tags, categories, etc.

Your adsense doesn't really target anything to do with your blog. Also, I only see one adsense ad on one of the posts. Aren't you trying to make money with adsense?

I also see the old post with the computer stuff and the new sex appeal pictures post?

Yes I put that up at 11:30 last night and I didn't have time to write targeting content. I'll edit it now, because it has 26 diggs so far. :D

Also, I'm pretty sure AdSense Deluxe is causing me to only be able to use code view when editing posts. Very strange.
 
my 2 cents:
* digg other's stories to build your digg profile
* ask friends to digg your post
* stumbling other's submissions to build a fan base
* IM your friends for the stumble

These should help you to get dugg.

And my adsense is terrible....anyone have suggestions on placement? It's kind of hard with wordpress because of the nature of the loop, combined with the 3 per page limit. Plus the template I'm using is REALLY poorly coded. :| There isn't even a single.php page.
 
I have a couple of suggestions on the ads. Not so much the placements but the colors. Change the ad links to the default blue for links. Change the color of the ad display url to be the same as ad text color (I'm not sure if you are using black or very dark grey).

It may not fit as nicely with the design but people are conditioned to click on blue. In the second case, you want to deemphasize anything that is not a link.

If you are targeting just Digg users, you might want to try Chitika minimalls or affiliate ads which target that demographic, especially with the mods post.
 
Digg has extremely savvy users. They don't like ads, and they know for the most part when they are being gamed. Your blog consists of pictures that have appeared in hundreds of similar Digg's, many of which have hit the front page. You're going to have to be more original then that to make the front page of Digg. I personally wouldn't even want to waste my bandwidth with Digg traffic. And not many shared servers can handle front page traffic from Digg. So are you ready for that headache if you don't have dedicated hosting?
 
I'm an avid digg user, and I've seen pictures be repeated 2-3, sometimes even 4 times on the front page before. You have to remember you don't get everyone each time.

I'm trying to not recycle old pictures, but rather put a new spin on them. I think I got close with my sex appeal post, as that got 42 almost all natural diggs. Unfortunately it didn't get popular. :|
