I've heard that myspace are going to make available a similar format of ads as available currently on facebook. I'm not familiar with this but is this going to be a HIT and anytime soon? :bigear:

From what I read on the intrawebs, you will only be able to direct people to a myspace page. If that holds true (which i doubt) it will be ghey. I'm excited about it, though, considering the amazing success myself and others have had with facebook ads so far. ETA is first quarter of '08.

Myspace can't even control it's own spam problem, and now they want to launch a sitewide ad network? This is GOOD news. For marketers like us. ;) They are going to get gamed so hard.

Yea, myspace has not yet to date offered a CPC solution on its site. Their ad buys have always been high. They arent (or haven been) interested in catering to the smaller advertisers. Now that facebook has their own ad network they may have to change their mindset.

You can already use it if you contact one of the sales reps.

See .myspace.com/hypertargeting

I've been in contact with one of their sales reps, and I asked her about it and she didn't even know what I was talking about. The only thing she told me was that I could now "hyper-target" categories like video games, entertainment etc. Sounds like they're still well behind the times.

lol..thats funny...but she was probably just clueless about the whole thing, i'm sure they have at least 1 or 2 people that know what they are doing...either way i can't wait till their cpc platform gets launched but i'm thinking it's not going to be anytime soon
