This might be a lame question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

1. Does having a low CTR on Facebook mean that eventually the ads could get pulled, kinda like on Adwords - or is it a whole different kettle of fish?

2. What difference does the bid price make. At the moment I'm on $0.26 but I have no problems going higher if it will make a difference. I know that on Adwords if I bid higher then I get more exposure, just wondering if it's the same on FB.

1. My (limited) experience is that a low CTR the ad stops getting impressions and thus, no traffic. Yes, make the same ad again (use the 'create similar' button) and it gets traffic again. In my tests, FB seemed to do this fairly quickly -- in less than a week, so if your ads fluctuate on a day-to-day basis and you start them on a bad day, it'll get pulled before it can perform. My 'pulled' ads were about 0.01% ctr. 0.02% continued, but didn't get the same impressions as >0.03%

2. My (again limited) understanding is increasing the bid will only do you good if there's someone out there bidding higher than you on the same demographic, and their ad gets displayed instead of yours. Up the bid and you get more exposure, because yours get shown instead of theirs.

Thanks for the reply, I've just been screwing about with Facebook ads recently and have lost a few dollars. Still, it was fun.

Don't forget the coupons that're around, if you haven't already used them. Not sure if they're all valid these days, but I remember one of the $50 ones lasted till late october..

In my experience CTR is supremely important. If your getting crappy CTR (Much under .1) than get cracking on some new ads and just keep putting them up.
