Facebook Custom URL Question

I made the mistake of getting too may "Likes" before I changed the name of my page. Now I'd like to change the name but not lose the custom URL associated with it.

Do you think I could delete the page, create a new page with my desired name, then after the new page has gotten enough likes change the URL to the URL of the page I deleted previously or do you think that URL is taken for good?

I could probably test this with a couple of jobs on fiverr and some fake pages that I don't care about but I thought I'd ask here first if anyone has tried this.

I just went to a FB url of a page I deleted a couple weeks ago and it refreshed to my FB main profile page... so it doesn't look like the old "username" is released...

Usually when you try to go to a FB page that is not taken it will look like this:

Last time I checked FB's help desk I saw that they will not release those custom urls after you delete them ...
