I did things a little backwards for one of my campaigns. Instead of testing the offer, I spent much too much time developing a landing page, only to find out that the CPA offer I wanted to run doesn't allow "Search". Stupid me.

But they do allow "Web", which basically means if i get leads from organic traffic, I'm fine.

Since I had planned to promote this offer via PPC from the start, is there a way to fake the HTPP referrer so that they see the source of my traffic as organic search, rather than Adwords? I know my landing page site will show as the final referrer, but I'm wondering how they can tell if the user came to the landing page via Adwords or via Organic.

If I can fake em out, then I can still run the PPC campaign, without worrying they'll hold my $$$ since I promoted Search.

Can it be done? Oh please I do hope so!.

Hit me up if ya knows....

so you mean, Adwords ---> redirect URL ---> landing page ---> merchant?

if they can't tell, whats the need for a redirect URL? They'll still wonder how I got all my traffic I'm guessing.

They didnt elaborate on Web too much though. My affiliate manager made it sound like landing pages could classify as Web. So I'm guessing they consider Search to be direct linking to the offer then.

Its Never Blue Ads in case that helps and anyone has worked with them before.

I gotta call em.

Call and find out, yeah. Chances are they'll be fine with it, but better to find a similarly performing campaign that DOES allow search. Even if your tracks are all covered, you'll still have that lingering doubt "zomg what if they don't pay."

But what peeon means (I believe) is that it's quite possible for them to see your ad in the results for whatever keywords. Since your LP url will be displayed in the ad, they could put two and two together and say, "Hmm, this guy IS running search!". Also, I'm not sure how a redirect would affect QS.

Or I could be totally off base. /ppc newb.

yeah, that makes sense.

id like to not redirect if possible. that was supposed to be a new issue with the latest QS update.

My page is targeted as hell so I dont see why the wouldnt want search being used, but who knows.

im cloaking my keywords so they wont know exactly which ones im using, but based on the niche, it wouldnt be that hard to figure out.

their is not a problem with redirects regarding the latest QS update. You simply have to make the TLD (top level domain, ie domain.com or domain.net) in the Display URL be the same as the final stop the user lands on, AFTER going through redirects. Just FYI
