I'm all for spanking your kids and against the de-pussification of parenting in the western world...but this is over the line in a civilized nation. Those defending it...should consider not becoming a parent.

I don't think its a huge injustice..but the dude is a terrible parent. More than anything, it says a lot about him, and should force officials to take a look at whether he is a suitable judge.

Being a teenager is a really, really hard time of life. I remember my teenage years vividly. You have hormones raging all over the place, you are really uncomfortable with your body, and you don't have control over your behaviour. I remember I fucking hated my parents at times because I thought they wanted me to stay a child forever. That was very hurtful for them.

It must be equally hard as a parent - seeing a loving child turn into a resentful, unpredictable seething mass of random behaviours. But it's like looking after a mentally ill person. You just have to hang in there and stop them from doing anything that they'll regret too much later on. Would you hit a mentally ill person because they weren't doing what you want?
 
I should add - one thing I have learned is that parenting is even more contentious than politics or religion. The likelihood of reaching consensus over this is below zero.

Yeah, let's criticize a child for not complying or acting "logical" while they are having something legally and morally wrong done to them.



Defenders of this kind of behavior were often victims themselves and only defend it because of their mental problems that were caused by the abuse.

It seems like the only members on this forum who are OK with this video have admitted to having been beaten at some point in their childhood.

Those who were abused as kids tend to be the most likely to then go and abuse their own kids...

Not really defending the abuse here but think about this. If his daughter was'nt breaking the law and subjecting the family to public humiliation (had RIAA come after them) this wouldn't have happened. She was breaking the law and 5 years ago the public was scared of the RIAA coming after them for "stealing" music. She knew she was breaking the law and this had been a prior discussion in the family as per the video. She was not a child in the eyes of the court. She new full well what she was doing and that it had consequence and choose to do it anyway.

Now with that said I have no doubt in my mind that after the good judge got done beating his daughter he went to town and fucked the shit out of his wife to fulfill the sexual desire he had building from treating his daughter like a lying cheating, thieving whore. You can pretty much guarantee this wasn't the first time and the fact that he sheltered his younger daughter from seeing it (who im sure is old enough by now to get the business end of that belt) and more than likely not the last time.

I have no doubt the guy is a hypocritical piece of shit who will soon be homeless after he looses his career all because his daughter decided this would help launch her piano career[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_g9TZN1UMo"]piano skills[/ame], which is up to about 20000 views today. Nice timing but not nearly as much as the half million daddy got today.

That doesn't make sense to me. Why not just disconnect her Internet connection and confiscate her mobile phone? That would be both appropriate and proportional, because it gives the message "if you can't follow the rules that come with Internet privileges, the privilege is withdrawn."

If he was some redneck, I could understand his intellectual capacity not going beyond "You do bad thing. I hit you with stick."

He wasn't a redneck though - he was a judge, and I would assume therefore, reasonably intelligent. Surely he's bright enough to come up with a smarter approach.

Anyway, I have a much better nuclear option for my daughter if she acts up when she's a teenager. I'm going to paint a beat up old minibus fluorescent yellow and keep it in the garage. If she misbehaves, I'll drive to her school in it and meet her in front of her friends. Teenagers fear embarrassment in front of their peers far more than they fear pain.

I have no doubt this guys a piece of shit abuser that's just continuing the cycle of abuse, but you still have to at least consider the fact it could have been an isolated event and the fear of his career from the public embarrassing coulda been enough to drive him to do it. The fact that the wife came in to take over tells me it wasn't the case she was trying to minimize the situation because shed seen it before, but who knows for sure?

Maybe not this incident, but she has likely been treated the same way other times for things that had nothing to do with a computer.

Possible, but unlikely. If it was an isolated event, he's more likely just to have flipped and walloped her with his hand.

The use of an instrument, making her turn over, reaction of wife point to this being a regular thing.

I used to get wooden spoons beat over my arms until I feel into the corner, then get them broken over my head. I used to get belt beatings until the welts split and bled. They stopped when I told my dad I would kill him and meant it, and took the belt from my mom and whooped the shit out of her. And we still love each other because we continued to increase in awareness and compassion through the years and apologized for the mistakes. My pops was an alcoholic and drug addict control freak who lived in fear of not knowing every variable to everything. He got that way not because he's an asshole. He had an environment and overbearing father too.

I got my ass beat and they all make this seem very tame.

I know some of you must be thinking this is waaay out of hand, but this whipping was very tame. His language and saying "fucking" and being a dick is the abuse. That's psychological and emotional abuse. The whipping was just a standard whipping.

She didn't turn over because she KNEW that if she didn't she could continue to enrage him. She did this because she KNEW she was taping it. She set up the recorder. She wanted it to be worse. She wanted the attention. She didn't want help. She wanted to be vindictive and hurt her dad.

Jesus I'm 16 and have an awesome relationship with my parents cause they're not totalitarian cunts, and I'm not a angst filled cunt either. Like seriously, who the fuck cares if you're up till 3am watching shows (or porn)? I'm not sure if I'm for or against generalized spanking for discipline. But I think what most people don't like about this video is that you can tell the dad is getting off on the rage, power, beating, and authority.

I don't think this guy is very different from many men out there at all - especially those who seek power/authority positions over other people - like fucking cops. They love to show someone that they have power over them.. and they basically gloat about it.

This guy is having fun. He's basically having a rage-fit on his disabled daughter.
