Finally A Browser for Black People

i dont know why some African Americans get insulted when they are called black. Yet when African americans call light skinned people "white", "whiteboy", its considered "ok"....i just never understood that.

Because they are insecure about the color of their skin and maybe their peers

Other than the shitty talk about it I see a marketing ploy that would be huge here. Before installing the browser have people to agree to your terms of service which would obviously state that they are agreeing to view 3rd party ads from time to time. I would then have a self-serve ad system with loads of offers on keywords and urls.

Adware is where dreams are made. Ask Media Traffic, Zango, Traffic Vance. Sure they require this on their installs but you could do the same thing with an African American browser then advertise the shit out of it on FB, Myspace, Blackplanet, Placement Targets.

Large business idea but with people sharing that shit virally it could be a potentially large business model.

PS - Dont know why I talked about marketing aspects of it. I could have just said it sucked I guess.

↑↑ Holy shit! That's gotta be the most hitlerious (racism + hilarious) thing I've seen all month!

When the idea was proposed to them six months ago, it seemed completely probable that John McCain would be victorious at the polls in November. If this had happened, black people in America would have been at a new low of grumpiness and disenfranchisement, completely ripe for marketing proposals that offered to draw them together in misery - perhaps even ready to do something en masse as utterly retarded as rallying behind a web browser that promised to deliver a Blacker Experience™ .
...
Because of course, the creator of this software couldn’t give a shit about black people. The company is betting on the naivety of black people, hoping that we’ll download some broke-ass Firefox theme with an intrusive search results filter. Filtering my google searches?? The fuck is this, Cuba? Nigga please, if I want some dumbass African pattern on my desktop, I’ll image-google Paul Simon Graceland, right click his african skull-hat, and set it as my wallpaper.
This actually makes a lot of sense.
Think about it. We DO know that people that self-identify as being black/Afro-American DO purchase specific things. If you have a browser that self-updates, and basically allows you a back end into their system, you can harvest a LOT more user data and/or promote things directly to them.
And you already know they're fairly ignorant of computer use and marketing simply on the basis of their decision to download and use this browser in the first place!
It's like any of those shitty toolbars you can get regular IE users to install.

Anyone who's decent at reverse engineering code, reckon you could have a sneak peek in and see if there's anything in there to report user data back, or possibly receive advertising popups or some shit?

Personally I've already been working on it. I've advertised with Media Traffic, Zango, Traffic Vance and Addonnetwork and have met them all in person. Remember those little celebrity toolbars;)

There's a lot of control when you get your 3rd part install on someones pc.
