I've been going back and forth with how I'm going to taxes, and decided it would probably be best to just go to a tax accountant with all my paperwork, toss it on their desk, and say "save me some money" - Now, I don't know anybody who actually goes to an accountant to file, so how do you know your accountant actually knows what they're doing?

I've been researching online for a couple hours on private firms in my area and can't find information on anybody.

How did you find your accountant?

Personally I would just take all of your tax information and take it to somewhere that specializes in taxes. Such as HR Block or something similar.

don't take your taxes to HR BLOCK they'll look at you like you're from another planet. Find a accountant that specializes in self employed individuals and small businesses.

Just open the yellow pages and pick one it's not hard. As long as their a certified CPA, you'll be fine. If you can find a tax attorney/CPA, you'll get better advice, but will pay a bit more.

Moving forward, just get yourself QuickBooks and start keeping track of everything. Have your accountant setup your accounts and just keep up with it. Assuming your not doing anything too fancy, come tax time just export to turbo tax and your good to go.

I started using Quickbooks when I incorporated for this year. Makes things a lot easier to track thats for sure. Might I suggest getting a payroll service that pays your taxes on a quarterly or pay period basis for you?
