I've been using term explorer..

wow. i like it. but when brainstorming, How do you experts find longtails with low competition and decent or high cpc?

I know no one will tell me this answer in a spoon fed way, but It might be something other noob's like myself can get the right mindset while looking for KW.

any thoughts

You might want to look at a program called Long Tail Pro, if your a noob, it's great for you. In terms of finding low comp, the only thing you can do is look. If you look at the app, you can set up filters, but you will have to look through each keyword.

Yeah, I use Keyword Researcher for the primary search along with term explorer, then throw everything into Marketing Samurai.

This is awesome. Never knew about keyword researcher before. Super into it now. Feel so much more motivated to get content written up or even written myself. Bam!

I just fuck with termexplorer. You don't need to fuck with anything else but that is just me.

This.

I just think of a couple seed keywords, put them in Google for auto suggest/related search, and then all in TermExplorer. I tried using other tools in the mix but to be honest just ended up getting lazy and stuck to TermExplorer which was the backbone of the scraping/filtering.

+1 for market samurai for competition analysis. Scrape, dump in MS, manually review the good ones, and build that content out.
