Recently installed firefox 4 release candidate (never bothered with the betas), it is major win compared to 3.6, now is the time to take the plunge! Just need to fiddle with live http headers to get it to work!

I've been meaning to post about this as well. I had to uninstall it because it conflicts with one site I use regularly but it's a very significant upgrade.

I was impressed with the beta's memory usage and speed. A lot of people try to make a one button for everything (MS Office, etc) and they are usually epic fails. Firefox got it right.

A huge plus is you can sync you browser urls with your smart device.

I can't wait to for the final version to come out. I think a lot of people are going to be impressed.

I like the new tab management system...It's nice, can't wait for final so it's fully stable to use...

Lack of omnibar is the worst thing about it though...good thing there's a plugin that creates the omnibar.

Its UI is slick, I like the new look & feel, and the resource management is a lot better than 3.X's but IMHO Firefox still looks slow if compared to Chrome

I would never trust chrome. I'm very paranoid about showing google my sites.

It's either opera or FF for me :)

i switched to chrome when firefox became unbearably slow and i'll only switch back if chrome somehow fucks up as well, which seems unlikely i think. a browser is a browser

Http Headers is still not compatible. I have been running the betas for about a month or so and most of the addons still aren't straightened out even w/ the RC but seems more get added each day. Still going back and forth between 4 and 3.6 cause of the addon issue. But overall 4 seems to be quite a bit faster. There has been a bunch of issues w/ videos so I hope thats all sorted out.

I like the space management the most. The tabs are already up on the title bar. Then no need for the menu bar. It will appear whenever you press alt. No need for addons bar as well. It'll appear as soon as you press ctrl+/. Surf in all the space you've got.

Global browser market share from Statcounter:

Feb 2010: IE 54.5%, Firefox 31.82%, Chrome 6.72% (Opera/Safari low)
Feb 2011: IE 45.44%, Firefox 30.37%, Chrome 16.54% (Opera/Safari low)

Got a feeling that Chrome could take over Firefox (and IE) in Feb 2012. The average web user wants fast browsing and Mozilla just never focus on this on each upgrade. Google can push their browser more than anyone else and other than a few bugs the speed and the look of the bookmarks/skins will always make it the best option (Extensions are getting better as well). I do like Firefox, but the more users = the more ads blocked = fuck them!!:)

Getting Live HTTP Headers to work with Firefox 4 | kulehandluke

haven't tested yet.

If any of you have a dual core or less (i have a pentium 4) is it actually faster? Just about every browser claims to be speedy, but firefox is a significant resource hog for me, I kind of doubt 4 will be any better in this regard.

Firefox 4 hasn't memory leaked like 3.6 used for me.

for all those scared of chrome and google knowing your shit, why not just use IRON, which is chrome with all google parts stripped out.
