Alright guys, I have taken the advice I rcvd on WF and am stopping with all the bullshit- paying for courses etc, and I’m going to man up and throw my hat in the ring and see what happens. Keep in mind that three months ago I didn’t know PPC from an STD….Here is my game plan. Am I on the right track?

-I have removed myself from every “Guru” opt-in list except for two I feel I get good free value from. Too much shit being thrown at me every two seconds and it fucks up my focus. I’ve been in and around a few different forums, but I feel I can get the best, no bullshit info about how the game is really played and more importantly- how the game is won here on WF.

-I will be starting with PPC to CPA. Why? Because I live very close to Azoogl*’s NYC office, and was able to stop up, introduce myself, and I feel it is a good move to establish a relationship with them. Once I get a better feel for everything I will expand into additional affiliate networks.

-My plan is to build (or have built I should say) simple silo-type websites. 18-20 pages including contact us, privacy policy, about us, disclaimer, & site map, with article content from ezine articles etc. Sites will have a few outbound links linking to authority type sites in hope of a better QS. Will set up 2 or 3 Squidoo lenses and have outbound links on the site and backlinks on the actual lenses to my site. I found someone to build the site for $277 but once the template is established I can get them cheaper and easily apply to other offers.

-I will have a starting budget of around $500/month. I plan on dumping every penny made back into my business.

-Will use prosper202 for tracking. I have no idea how to do this yet, but I know there is info on WF that will show me how.

-Will cloak my affiliate ID’s. I think I need to learn about meta-refresh tags as well??? Again, no idea how to do this yet but there is enough info on WF to figure it out.

-Should I also be using dynamic keyword insertion?

-Still need to get better at KW research. I am still not 100% clear on how people can make money on $1 or $2 zip or email submits when all the KW I see are expensive. Pretty sure the answer lies in longtail/lower volume KW.

-I Plan to start campaigns on the Google content network. Seems less competitive than search- cheaper CPC and much less to worry about in terms of QS and G-Slaps. Once I see a campaign working will tackle search and once I get a better feel for the whole process/mechanics of adwords I will learn me up some Yahoo and MSN OR do I have that ass-backwards and should start on Yahoo & MSN to not deal with all the bullshit Google throws our way?

-If campaign is working will scale it up/adjust bids accordingly and make some videos and get the feel for video marketing. Will do the same with articles and web 2.0 when the time is right as well.

-Still unsure about when to scrap a CPA offer. I see that a lot of people say when promoting a product via PPC that # is 2-3x payout. Not sure how that applies to a $2 form submit offer though. Also unsure about how shows like Battlestar Galactica and Deadwood are no longer on TV but maybe that’s for another post…

-Will get better/faster at choosing and testing offers. Once I get somewhat of a system down I will be able to launch/test multiple offers per month although not sure how to do this if I am building these silo-sites for each. The math clearly doesn’t work. I keep reading direct linking is dead or at the very least way harder than it used to be so ultimately not worth it???

-I know at this point there is just a massive fuckload I don’t know, but this is kind of where I am at right now…

Don't waste your money. Do it yourself and learn something.

$277 sounds wicked high for a 20p silo site. you could probably just buy a nice silo template somewhere for a few buck and then pay someone a lot less to write you some varied css profiles to mix it up a bit. could get this done for like ~100 imo

also agree with building them yourself, but i feel the best way to learn is to start with a good example and deconstruct it, so find a template and mess with it.

unless it's super technical, i try not to outsource anything i don't already know how to do. i'm paying to compensate for my time, not my expertise.

Thanks for the feedback. My thinking is yes it would be great to learn a little HTML and learn how to design basic sites/landers, but I have limited time to work on IM (2 hours in the morning and probably another 3 or 4 at night). Starting from scratch, I have so much else to learn and get proficient with.

SoulScience (Brooklyn in the house)- I hear you. I dug pretty deep looking for a silo template but wasn't able to find anything. I just learned how to use cPanel/Fantastico etc and set up a wordpress blog. I figured I'd be able to find a silo template for wordpress but found nothing. All I was able to find was examples of a silo site from a webinar that I sent to an outsourcer in Asia to price. If you know where I can find one I'd owe you one...
