First ever 5 figure month

Most of it's going in savings at the moment. I've cut my living expenses down to less than $1000 / month so apart from that, it's all in high interest accounts.

My next big purchase is a house so every dollar helps.

Where do you live? How's that possible to cut down to less than $1000 / month? My rent itself is already $1000 now.

I spent 2 months in Bali and was living off less than $1000/month and that included covering rent and most food for my girlfriend as well.

Before I flew out I was paying $1000 in rent a month as well but we ditched the house when we left.

I landed back in Australia a month ago and I'm staying at my mums place now. Tomorrow, I'm house sitting at a mates place for a month and the plan is to spend the next 6 months house sitting at various places before flying out again.

So, no rent to pay.

I don't drink and rarely drive my car anywhere so my only real expense is food. I spend between $150 - $200 / week on that and that basically covers everything.

If you're working online and don't have any real location specific commitments, it's really good way to save money.

May I make a suggestion? Turn your cash into assets as soon as you can, particularly productive assets such as small businesses, land, rental property. Cash is a bit fucked at the moment.
