Thoughts on this phone?

I got it some time ago and am happy with it.

It doesn't have anything revolutionary but is just a well put together piece off hardware.

All the specs are high end and it does very well in benchmarks (if anyone cares).

I've got one as well and its pretty good. Nothing spectacular...but it kicks the samsung/iphone stuff IMHO. At this price point its a fantastic buy.

At that price point, fantastic phone. The specs are high end and competes, if not beats, all other devices out there.

It doesn't rock the stock Android OS you get with other manufactures. It uses the Cyanogenmod (custom ROM), which is a modified version of Android. It adds a lot of features, takes out the garbage shit you don't need/use, which helps on battery life, a lot. Custom ROMs are definitely the way to go.

Definitely a phone I would get if I wasn't more interested in the build quality so much. I would get this phone over any phone out there, except the One (m8). I just love a beautiful and well designed phone. The iPhone doesn't even come close to the quality of the m8 (fact).

They also use an invite system because their supply just can't meet the demand..Which is awesome for them, lol.

If anyone does have an invite, let me know and I'll build you a website in return!

(Pretty sure you're trolling, but fuck it)

Why?

I couldn't possibly find one reason to choose an iPhone over any Android device, really. Unless I just wanted to feel like I was cool and was smarter than everyone else by buying, what I think, is the best phone.. lol

I have used and developed apps for both apple and android. Apple always wins hands down. Android is a cluttered platform and the device UI and app UI is ugly and dated.

Not only do I like the signature Apple UI better, but apple products always work and do what they're supposed to. Plain and simple.

Android apps crash, and I have never used an Android device and found it intuitive.

Using an Android device reminds me of the many years I spent using Windows computers, and then I finally touched a Macbook pro one day and never looked back.

If you enjoy headaches and shitty UI then be my guest and buy an Android.

Good point, actually. I'm not an app developer, and most aren't, so that's definitely not a problem for most.

I have a good experience with android, although some apps do seem to crash, for no reason. Nothing serious for me, though.

But having used both devices, I prefer Android.

The thing with developing apps for android is, there are so many different manufactures out there that use the OS, whereas Apple developers only need to focus on one device.

I'm sure it's at least a little like making your website compatible on all devices and browsers. It's more of a challenge for sure.

Hmmm I really like how they work the invite system. Makes me want in on this exclusive offer....

Thought this was iball from the back logo lol.

This is made by the cyanogenmod team just because they have some following from the cyanogenmod.

Specs are good but the thing is how long is the phone going to last? These type of phones "Too much value for less monie" has touch, phones gets slow etc problems.

Must be your shitty coding :love-smiley-086:

Nothing I develop works on Apple, because Apple is a shitty closed environment.

Also, I don't find Apple apps intuitive, quite the opposite.

Nothing I develop works on Apple, because Apple is a shitty closed environment.

That doesn't even make sense. Are you trying to say you have app ideas that can't be built unless you jailbreak the phone?

"Nothing I develop works on Apple" - Sorry to burst your bubble but its not the environment that's breaking your code... your code is just crashing the app.

Also Apple may be closed, but there's a reason why you have all of these spammy Android apps transmitting your location data to Russia.

PS. Here's a screenshot from a video demo for this phone, found on their website:

I like my iphone, makes me look like a baller even though i'm a peasant. I hide behind my phone to mask all my insecurities and look cool while doing it.

LoL, dunno if you're trolling or not, but I've not read a bigger load of Apple vs Android or PC bullshit in awhile. iOS apps are not infallible. Apps on our iPad crash all the time.

That's just it, isn't it. Just because it's an iOS app, doesn't mean it's going to be good or crash free.

i've had the phone since about September. it's unreal value for the price, great battery, great screen. still, i was never a fan of custom ROMs and i'm getting weird bugs. people can't hear me on phonecalls (!) until i reboot, chrome browser crashes the phone and I have to reboot. i never got these problems on my nexus 5 or nexus 4. a phone has to work as a phone all the time when somebody calls, everything else is secondary.

i've the iphone 6 plus on order (4 weeks delivery and €900! i nearly got sick pressing the order button) as I want to get more into coding iOS apps and i need to be familiar with the UI. i'm an android fanboy at heart though, i'll probably move to the Nexus 6 around March.
