Flippa Buyers

So I sold a site for Mid XX,XXX

Buyer didn't seem to know shit about SEO..., so I felt it was my duty to train him. I had like 100 hours of Skype chat with him..

Also he told me that he raised the funds for the site, so I thought that I would feel like shit if the site tanks..

And I worked on the site for a two weeks period like I have never done in my life.. Bought tons of 1 way links... Blog posts, and blog posts real ones.... as I had a lot of contacts..

And the traffic increased by 20% in a month, and in 3 months, with that uncertainty of google, Google decided to reallllllly rank it.. And site grew in traffic 4.5 times

Yes 4.5 fucking times... The guy was so damn happy... I wasn't sure if I was happy or had a pinch of regret. My wife sure regretted.... but I have never been able to predict google, so I was happy...

But he never took care of the site even though I wrote him a fucking SEO manual for him... he had a very good run for I think 2 years... And the site became stale.. No a single update in 2 years, and site is now back what it originally had, or a little less maybe... But he could have easily maintained his 1 Million plus visits a month.. dumb fuck.. I am thinking of asking him to sell it back to me...

But that guy recovered his investment in like 6 months.

This is just a cool story.... but a true story nonetheless

I sold a site off another online broker site for mid 6 figures and the site is doing really well. I have a good relationship with the new owner and he told me he broke my personal monthly revenue numbers with the site...I kind of regret selling it.
 
I've sold 3 sites on flippa and everytime they are pretty well abandoned. I've even had one dude pay and then never complete the transfer process. I emailed and skype messaged him for over 3 months with never a response. Seriously weird.

I suspect most flippa buyers are IM'ers rather than webmaster/seo types and wouldnt have a clue how to do things etc.

Picked up the domain when it dropped, re-created the site and resold it for low $X,XXX

Second buyer let the domain drop again.

That is so weird. Who are these people with 10,000s to spend but no clue?
