I wish the 80% CTR got me 8 times the conversions of the 10% CTR page, but it didn't --
I've had cases where increased LP CTR led to DECREASED conversions. For example, with an LP that required an opt-in to get to some premium content, which ultimately directed visitors to an offer, I easily doubled my money. Whereas, when I removed the opt-in to try and increase CTR, I actually lost money.
My conclusion (it's been said often enough but it's true): Smaller commitments lead to larger ones.
