One of the things that holds a lot of noobs back is actually starting their campaigns and testing. Without starting anything, you can't make any money. So instead of coming here and asking "How do I make monies on the internets?", read these 3 links and then just jump right in. So what if you lose money for a few weeks or months; consider it the cost of your education.

Here are some of my favorite articles and posts that'll give you a kick in the ass to get started:

Do it Fucking Now. (This one has been mentioned a bunch but still one of the best.)

Super Affiliate Marketing Blog » Enough Bullshitting… Let’s Make Money In 24hrs Or Less!!! (A real kick in the ass, and motivating.)

http://www.wickedfire.com/search.php?searchid=696894 (Find the lightning round threads and read em.)

There are lots more out there but these are some of the better ones and should give you the push you need. If anyone has more of their favorite or motivational money making articles / posts, feel free to link them.

You should have just titled this post:

'HAI GUYS I WANNA PAY MORE FOR MY CAMPAIGNS LOLOLOL!!!111'

1. What's the point of this forum if it's not gonna help people in some way.

2. Those posts are all for the public to see anyways.

3. It takes a lot more to make money than to just read those posts, but they can get the ball rolling for those that are stuck.

Thanks for the post man... definitely something useful for a noob like me to stay focused and do it fucking now.

A little OT and a factor that is stopping me from taking action is whether to do CPA or CPC. Which would you recommend for a smaller budget? I would be using 2nd tier search engine traffic to advertisement.

CPA all the way. To start, find an offer where you'll get paid per lead. CPC payouts are usually shitty, and Cost Per Sale are harder to convert for beginners and on 2nd tier engines.

That post def helped me more then if I were to read my rss feed all day.

Finally made a profit today after 2 months of failure.. $25 ad spend $50 revenue. Hopefully it profits again tomorrow, then i'll know im on a winner. Completely redesigned landing page, deleted cheap non converting keywords and raised the bids for remaining keywords that werent getting any impressions. This is a cost per sale campaign by the way, the very first offer I tried.. failed with.. tried about 7 other campaigns then came back to this one with new ideas and made it work.

ffs after one day of profiting as i said above.. $25 ad spend $50 revenue.. the next 2 days ZERO SALES off the same keywords and same number of clicks. fucking fuck. failure again.

wow... how can you call it failure after just 2 days???????????
with one of my campaigns this month i haven't made a sale in 4 days... then i made 6 sales in 2... you need more testing before saying if a campaign is a failure or not...

As I understand it, the de facto rule of thumb is to send a minimum of 500 clicks to an offer before calling it a success or a failure.

Any of the bigger PPC folks care to comment on this?

That's about right as a rule of thumb, although I take it a step further...

If I send 500 clicks and get 0 leads/sales AND I've tried everything I could tweak in the campaign, then it's done.

But if I send 500 clicks and get "some" leads/sales but it's not profitable, then I'll continue tweaking and sending thousands more clicks until I get it profitable or at least breakeven.

I go by the rule that if you can get a handful of conversions, then there's a good chance you can eventually get it profitable.
