All the people complaining about home schooling are making blanket assumptions about the situation.
My son does things outside of school ie Boys And Girls Club, YMCA, Tae Kwon Do, shit like that.
People say school teaches you to be social which is a complete fallacy. All school teaches you to do is conform and be a good little worker.
Number one phrase said by teachers in school
"name" it isn't social time
There is maybe an hour total of your so called social time any day in school. My son is 10 and is reading at high school levels, when we go through a lesson it takes 10-15 minutes rather than a whole hour to learn some stupid shit.
For the people saying let him be a kid. That is exactly what I am doing, there is no harm in showing and teaching him how to do things. If he doesn't enjoy it then so be it. If he does then we keep going.
You guys on one breath say let him be a "kid" do not force shit on him. Is that not exactly what a school does 5 days a week for 8 hours a day. rethink your blanket statements and give advice on the situation rather then on your assumptions of it.
