For all those who don't like the idea of using your home broadband, don't use the T105 or my ideas. I don't use a home connection the vast majority of my production sites, but could easily if it came to it.
For the simple process of testing LPs and what I imagine 90% of the noobs on this forum would use it for, the server is perfect and can be run from a fast home connection.
Midcontinent Communications: MidcoNet - Home is my ISP. I pay $99/month for my Internet service. I have never had a power outage because I live in a pretty damn new neighborhood and the infrastructure is just newer, if that makes any sense. I also have a very fat UPS in my home office servicing these machines.
The point of this whole thing is this: You can get the kind of server that will handle most of the guys on this forum's sites, you can get it for $500, and you can expand your options as much as you'd like.
If you like paying a shared host for your site, fine, pay them, I don't really give 2 fucks what you leet haxors do to be honest, but for the guy sitting at home wondering how the fuck to get started and make his investment last, my solution works.
