SEO mod for VB for the urls for better indexing
SiteMap mod

these might help with SE later on

Is there any concrete evidence these mods work? I've heard mixed reviews about them both.

If a VB forum is populr enough it seems to get indexed fairly well without the need for the SEO mod.

I've also read people say they drop in rankings when they add site maps. Not sure what the story is with that one either.

You can prolly do that with a simple automation job in photoshop.
Like record action:
1. create background layer with right color
2. ctrl-click layer with button/smiley
3. feather 2px
4. invert selection
5. delete
6. save

now run the action on all smileys and buttons.

Haven't tested the 2px value, might need some tweaking.

vbSEO is alright; I'm using it on one of my forums, the problem is I added it within a week of launch so I don't know if it has helped or not. It definately makes stats reading easier..

You might want to consider some image size restrictions, or actually auto resising, i saw on the 'babes' thead that some images kinda tear apart the layout just a hint

Would be nice, but doesn't say that much. I often keep a browser open all day, whithout even posting once (no, not today )
