this was leaked awhile ago & promptly yanked by Warner Bros. from all sites hosting it.
it has officially been released now for those who missed it before.
(frank miller was responsible for sin city, among other graphic novels)

I have no idea what it's about but these pix remind me of everything from The Ten Commandments to Amadeus to Gladiator to Star Wars. Very well done though!
 
Spartans... always kicking the black guy down the well.
But I think I saw that trailer in theatres, looks awesome.

[SIZE=-1] Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, "300" is a retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army.
Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.

It's the bestest trailer I've seen in a while. I keep wanting to watch it again and again.
 
I read the graphic novel. Made me twice as excited to see this movie.
 
I saw a preview for this like a month ago and have wanted to see it ever since...

I think the best part is
"our arrows will block out the son...
Then we shall fight in the shade"

Now that's a badass.
 
That trailer looks unbelievable! That cinematography is indeed pretty damn nice looking. I wonder how that style will work thru the movie. SinCity did work so why not this. We'll see..
 
A little history behind the movie:
  • it's estimated that the Persion army lost anywhere from 40,000 to 50,000 men
  • the Spartans only had 300 men because the rest stayed in Sparta to make sure the slaves didn't start a revolt
  • it's said the first 10,000 Persian soldiers died without killing a single Spartan
  • the Persians had a group of elite and specially trained soliders called the "Immortals", they were considered the best soldiers of the Persian Emptire.. all of them died fighting the Spartans
