Now, this is nothing new and earth shattering but I wanted to share something that was an accident that ended up making me $10 a day in extra CPA leads right now.

I have a little page with some content and CPA ads on it. Someone left a comment on the page that was relevent to the content and CPA ads. This comment had a domain name in it. Let's say companiesproduct.com. One day I have a pretty large jump in traffic and was looking at the keywords used to find my little CPA page...

What do you know? My traffic increased by 20% because of searches on companiesproduct.com. So I SEO'd a bit with that domain name and related keyword phrases. So now instead of getting 100+ unique hits/day on my little CPA page I'm getting 200+ unique hits/day.

The reason for all the trafic for this domain name? Com to find out they are advertising an offer on TV. This is a consumer product advertised prime time not a infomercial. I'm ranking #1 in Google for "companiesproduct.com" with almost no extra work (maybe 30 seconds).

What are the take aways?

1. WATCH TV for ideas. :-)

2. LOOK at the keywords people use to get to your site.

3. LISTEN to your visitors, friends, co-workers and what products they use.

4. People are still stupid and type domain names into the search box.

Hope that helps someone.

I ranked pretty fuckin' high 5th or 6th for a two-word product name by writing an article that blew it to shit. Had i recommended another product instead, i probably would have made some money but this was a few months ago when i didn't know what the shit i was doing with the website.

So yeah, if you see an infomercial for a product, people will search for it especially if its just beginning its run. You can wirte about it in a good light or write a bad review about it and recommend something else.

are you allowed to use domain names for PPC campaigns? Don't some Affiliate offers forbid you from bidding on their domain name when buying PPC traffic?

Yup a few of them do restrict you from bidding on certain terms but I'd say from experince that over half of your offers don't limit your ppc efforts which means there are more then enough products to promote.

A bit late joining this conversation, but it's actually something I've noticed. It's really easy to optimise for URLs, especially since, if you use a blog for example, you can put the URL in the title of a post. The actual websites tend not to display their URL anywhere, so I've ranked higher than them for it...

wow, that's beautiful in its simplicity, reminds me of a mix between google bombing and domaineering.

There might be a massive untapped goldmine here, thanks for sharing dude, if this ends up bringing extra cash I'll owe you one.

A very useful tip, including miss-spellings of related URLS can be a good traffic generator too.

If you want to maintain the integrity of 'your' content you can always include these miss-spellings in your comments section.
