Free 1TB from MaxCDN



Thanks, bro. Always wanted to try them. However, the check out is retarded. I signed up, got a thank you screen, which says "Thank you, you'll be satisfied." and some small blurb about being able to contact support if need be. That's it, no other instructions, confirmations, etc... I didn't get any confirmation emails either. Also cannot login. When I input the info I signed up with, just get redirected back to login screen without any error. Fucking tarded!!
 
Thank you for opening my eyes to what a CDN even is, repped.

the same. what worked - contact live chat box and ask about it, the guy just activated it for me
 
I use Amazon CloudFront, working flawlessly and it's pay for what you use.

This does look interesting though.
 
I use cloudfront too, mainly because they have a node in Brazil and I already use a few other aws services so it keeps everything consolidated. If you want to get on akami's without the usual barriers rackspace resells their cdn on a pay as you go basis.
 
Am I the only one that hasn't seen any speed benefit from using a CDN? Tested three different ones and all of them were slower than just using my host only. (used tools.pingdom.com and their global servers to test for speed)

Solid host + proper WP cache plugins > CDN ?!
 
What does 'only for August' mean - you must signup during August and you get to keep the 1TB or does it mean the 1TB is only good during August.

Doesn't seem to say squat on their site.
 
Nah, I like my dedicated servers. I'm old fashioned like that.

I don't want to share some cloud with people. I want my own damn boxes! :)

You get the use of that 1TB for 1 year.
