"I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism." - Ronald Reagan

And mormons believe in super-pants so what?

In USA the line blurs because you have two large parties. Conservatives are against personal freedoms and do not have anything to do with economy. The opposite of conservative is liberal who want more personal freedom.

Libertarians are for low tax rates which results in smaller government (government spends less money in public good and social programs). Opposit of libertarian is socialist or social-democrat because socialists are commonly (mis)interpreted as communists.

In USA republicans are conservative libertarians while democrats are liberals but their economic views vary from libertarian to social-democrat. In EU there's something that is called "the third way" or liberal-democrat. These parties are liberal-libertarian and they are both for personal freedoms and for lower taxes and small government...

Politicians defining political labelism is what gives us this awful Republican/Democratic, Conservative/Liberal pseudo-war.

Please don't perpetuate it.

Also, lots of idiots like Glenn Beck and Hannity are starting to endorse and misattribute the "libertarian" word into their marketing platforms which will be the death of libertarianism as a word.

Personally, I don't think anyone should use umbrella terms to summarize their political beliefs. We should replace political labels with a summation of your stance on foreign war operations, economics, social freedoms, and key fundamentals that actually change the course of a nation.
