I am very confused right now, I don't understand. A month ago I start my website and I was just doing SEO. At the beginning of this week the SEO work starts to give me some results. I just pop up in the page 2 of google for some long tail keywords but since yesterday I just drop my position dramatically, I'm not in the 100+ first pages of google. WTF?

What did I do wrong?

My site is a review site but I have 2 articles in the hompage and I also included:
- privacy
- terms of use
- contact
- about us

I'm still indexed in google and I haven't done any black hat stuff. Does anybody know WTF happened?

I hope I don't get in trouble because I post this boobs

You'll never get in trouble for posting boobs here. Did you have personalized search results turned on when you were getting first page rankings?

No Tyler, I didn't have personalized search turned on, I found out in google analytics reports. I was getting organic traffic with some long tail keywords and then nothing, nada, zero. What I notice now is that many of my competitors (that I haven't seen before) are in the first pages of google. I thought google changed positions daily and in a steady way not in one day. Or is possible that my niche trends are hot? When I start to promote the product (CB) it had a gravity of 150 and now it's 500.

I was going to buy 1000 backlinks but now I don't know if it's ok to use them because what just happen in google. If I buy these 1000 backlinks will it help me or not? I'll start with PPC this week in google but I don't know if it's good to change to Y!

Give it a few days it'll come back.

edit: to page two/one. lol

To clarify, yes, you will get in trouble if boobs are placed outside of StS. Read the Rules of Engagement - Rule #11.

The problem with boobs in this section is they don't belong. This section is for learning and sharing, not dickrolls and boobs. Most of you know I spend a lot of time in here, and I don't tolerate either. You probably won't get perma-banned but repeat offenders may be temp-banned.

Back to the original question:

Did you check multiple datacenters? Google has hundreds of them, and when you go to Google.com you're not always seeing data from the same datacenter. When Google dances, it's a good idea to check multiple DC's to see if this is a trend or possibly related to one dc.

Thank you all for your answers and recommendations.

Mike, lesson learned I won't post boobs where don't belong.

Doh! I totally didn't realize this post was in the newb section. My bad Mike. I was blinded by Scarlett's boobs and had a temporary lack of judgment.

LOL! No biggie. I'm try not to come down too hard on people for boobs in the wrong place. Usually I just delete them, change the icon and PM them not to do it again.

Because I likes boobies. A lot. (but I have to uphold the law of the land as well. sigh)

You were most likely sandboxed. A page would usually quickly grab a nice spot in the searches, before being tossed many pages behind for a while. It's a typical cycle. It's called being sandboxed. You have to wait it out, and keep building links to get out of it quicker.

agreed, usually google send your web into sandbox. and it will be normal again after couple days/weeks

Rankings dance around like that all the time. It will come back eventurally - maybe tomorrow, maybe in 6 months.

In the meantime, keep building links.

I'm assuming your site was a wordpress one;

Initially wordpress does a great job of getting new content to rank well quickly without any backlinks. You then have to keep adding backlinks (take note of velocity and quality) to maintian and better that position.

Saying that what also I've noticed alot is before a serp boost your ranking tank and then reappear esp for new sites.

Give it a week or so and SLOWLY build a few links to it adding more with time.

Hows it ranking now Maxx? any "fairly specific" advice on how soon or how many backlinks u can and should build within xxx time frame
