how can the law possibly effect the affiliate themselves. Affiliates dont process payments or deal with the consumers. I understand how it can hurt the merchant but how the heck could the affiliate be effected?
The affiliate is affected either by networks refusing to deal with NY based affiliates (for fear of taxation) or putting the affiliate at a competitive price disadvantage.
And countrywide, it sets a REALLY bad precedent that could encourage other states to do the same. Between this and the current testing of metered broadband the internet could potentially become even more difficult to do business on for the little guy.
Jesus, those better be the most delicious, gold plated cigarettes ever. Here in California I pay around $3.50-4.00 for a pack of camel lights and I still bitch about it.
I say again, New York is for suckers. That is all, thank you.
