My rims are scratched to shit. I drove to Reading one day to pick stuff up urgently, had to go through a narrow bit of road and not only was it narrow enough to scrape my wheels on one side, I scraped all 4 of my rims. It was the width of my car. Scratched all around the edges of all 4 wheels, sucks ass.

I used to spend some money on my cars, always had 3 ( one for me, one for wife, one for a backup if mine or hers needed to go to the dealer ).
I kept them all in mint condition, washed and waxed and clean inside and even always went and got the dings and shit fixed as they happened.
Then one day it hit me I was going to a dealer 1-2x a month for shit ( having 3 cars, something comes up on each ). If it wasn't for oil changes and routine maint ( like at 30k, 60k, etc ) then it was for unexpected shit like the dings, things that came up ( I had a chipmunck chew up some wiring in the engine bay ) or a light that burnt out ( outside or instrument panel ). Not to mention all the time invested in keeping them clean and nice looking too.
I've owned all kinds of cars from dodges to mercedes, new and used, and it doesn't matter what you buy, this shit happens to all cars regardless.
Where I live, you cant get someone to pick up and drop off your car, and most times I would be the one sitting at the dealership waiting for shit to be fixed too so I would waste 2-3 hours when I would go if not more.
When it hit me the time, money, and waste I was setting myself up to with all of them.. I got rid of them. Even time to get a loaner or have your spouse pick you up when their busy is a waste.
After insurance, taxes, and all the other costs of maint. and upkeep ( and then time sunk ) I said fuck it and decided to get keep just a small ass economy car for myself and a small SUV for my wife. I dont care if the fucker gets dented or starts to rust.
I park upfront next to the handicapped people and ugly vans full of bad ass kids that will door ding you in a heart beat, but I have saved myself so much time, productivity and headache I dont even give a fuck now.

That's how I've always treated my nice cars without regard to the cost of the vehicle.
I buy cars to drive and enjoy, not to pamper. Why else buy it? Just to look at? It does not thrill me. But driving them, that's the pleasure. Screw worrying about little stuff. If the rims are bent or have lost their performance, fine, fix them, or better yet trash the useless oversized rims and get ones that allow the car to perform. (not the case in OP).

I've pretty much gone down the road of, I buy a car to get me somewhere without being out tons of time and money.
I'd much rather have something like a honda accord that ends up getting dented, rusted, look dirty, then say a BMW 7 series that is the same. Something just doesn't settle with me when I see someone buy a $65k+ car and then leave it to shit within a year. However, I feel totally different about the guy that has a civic or escort that is the same way.
I just don't put money into cars ( been there done that, been had ) anymore. Get me where I need to be reliably and that's it. My house on the other hand is a different story.
I don't look at things like that. This ends up being a bigger inconvenience than just the extra money. Taking time out of my day to have it fixed forces me out of my business hours, which equates to much more than the rim themselves.
P.S - Definitely can't buy 3 of them for $100k, more like 1.5x.
