Normally in non-computer life if I hate something, I'll just fucking punch the person. Paypal has some fucking nerve to hold my money for 180 days as they grow interest in their bank accounts... I dont know who the fuck they think they are. Has anyone ever tried pursuing legal action against them regarding this?

yeah, paypal sucked all the time. they disabled my account permanently for now reason long time ago.

Never keep money on your paypal account, withdraw as fast as you receive them

I believe mgtarheels is pursuing legal action against them. I really do think this is something that IMers should join forces on. Paypal is out of control.

Fuck PayPal, every few months they spring the fucking "hey we are going to keep your money for nearly a month before you have access to it so we can gain interest on it even though you've never had any negative actions taken against you and zero refunds."

Someone should organize the mass use the shiny new SSL DDOS tool on them...

I literally feel like... "I wanna burn that mother down". Like run and gun in there with my guns, but am I just being a lunutic? I mean what the fuck, seriously? I make a shit load of money, but just to make it clear here since I never said an amount the bastards are only holding about $750.00 bux. It's just the fucking point I guess. I just wrote them some more hate mail saying I'd report to the Federal reserve and Banking commission because there not listed as a "bank". Just fucking bullshit... Got a few things in the worx; will report back tho

I've never had this issue before but many of my friends have had this happen to them with Paypal. I can't wait until someone better comes along and replaces Paypal's horrible service. Don't get me wrong, they are a good company but when it comes to holding funds, they act like they can't help you.

lol $750? Consider yourself lucky. They put me on a 180 day rolling reserve for 15% of all of our transactions. They are currently holding about $35K of my money and that number grows every single day. Its ballsack but merchant teller accounts aren't that much better if you are doing high volume. Almost any merchant teller linked to a payment gateway is going to want some sort of a reserve balance to underwrite high-volume transactions. Basically the only way to get around it is have people mail you paper checks.

A few years ago they froze my account because my cousin had too many chargebacks on HIS account. I never could get through to anyone on the phone. They emailed saying that I had the same last name and lived in the same city they needed to review my account. After a few months they released my funds but that whole operation needs to be shut down as a scam.

Since Ebay owns them you can't use any other processor, so I quit Ebay altogether too.

put on your special camouflage bush costume and sneak up on them

No problems with PayPal this time around. AlertPay on the other hand... fucken cunts.

Account is 100% clean, money idly sitting there for about 4 months, no disputes, chargebacks, nothing. Finally got my bank account added, and sure enough when I goto withdraw I get an e-mail saying my account is suspicious, being sent to fraud dept, and funds are frozen in the meantime. At least be honest and say you're stealing my money, because your merchant account was suspended, so you don't make enough money anymore to honor withdrawals, which is what I'm assuming is happening.

PayPal is notorious for this. They had 3k of mine locked up for 180 days a few years ago. After the time ran out, I could only withdraw $500/month maximum. it took another 6 months to get all of my money. complete bullshit.

I hate them so much but I am forced to use them because they are the #1 online payment system. I cannot wait for someone else to enter their biz and crush PayPal. ePassporte was gaining speed but they got pwned ;\

Pretty sure WF would put up bail money if you go that route. Keep us posted.

edit - not endorsing violence of any sort of course.

edit 2 - but yes on the bail money.

You can get support from the entire IM community if you do this, I bet everyone will make sure you get real nice treatment on the inside and a top notch lawyer to boot.

wow... so apparently im not the only one here. Fucking bullshit whores they are. Im not gonna just "sit here though". So I'll report back with what I do within the coming days when I decide to do it. Fucking whores... No one takes my monies.

....As for the $35k dude, your a goon for leaving that much in the paypal account. Whenever I get broke off on paypal, i withdrawal immediately. I dont sell anything on ebay, what further pisses me off is that I bought a few $1,000 prepaid greendot/moneypak cards through a grocery store. So the money there holding is prepaid dorah; so there is no g dam risk...

He didn't leave that much money in his Paypal. Learn some reading comprehension. He's using Website Payments Pro and is on a 6 month rolling reserve, and from what I understand it's up to $35k now and growing.

Paypal is not a bank and yet the walk/talk/act like a bank for users. It is likely that there is a case in that differentiation.

At some point some bank is going to enter the market and force regualtors hands at considering PayPal a provider of bank services. Right now they claim they are a payment processor or some sort of loophole like that.

But just as check hold laws used to be a problem with banks until a few congressman had problems this will not likely be addressed until a legislator has a personal problem with PayPal.

Who knows, just not on the top of the OWS list of demands so it will not likely happen too soon.
