Just got a call from Comcast today telling me my internet is being permanently shut off tomorrow.
According to them my bandwidth has been 500GB/mo for the past 3-4 months and last month it was 1000GB. A couple hours ago they called me to tell me as soon as I reach 250GB bandwidth for the month I am losing internet. They setup a login for me to view my bandwidth usage for the month. It is at... 95%
I pleaded with them, offered to pay them over $2500 just to extend my internet until the end of the month (to give the kind people at Verizon 3 weeks to dig a hole in the backyard to setup Fios), yelled at them, escalated myself up the chain of command for several hours, and they will not budge.
They could have warned me 2 or 3 months ago when my bandwidth first increased, but they never once said a single thing about my bandwidth usage until todays call. If they warned me sometime before today I would've had plenty of time to cut back on usage, move Ubot programs to other locations, close RDP connections that can suck up bandwidth, etc. I shut everything off now (costing me several thousand dollars in lost profit; none of which would have been lost if they gave me even a week to move shit to other places). Even with all of that I am going to be losing internet soon (probably next couple of days) considering how close I already am to the 250GB threshold.
Comcast thinks its good business to warn people of bandwidth problems the day before they permanently get cut off.
So I just wanted to say FUCK YOU COMCAST.
