Anyone else keeping an eye on this?

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSJ2xtTKF9s"]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/ame]

I forwarded that video off to all the popular news in Canada. Don't expect anyone to talk about it though. There's a few more videos up by the same author.

Protester goes "you guys are making no sense".

Cop goes "I know".

What fucking bullshit this is, especially the end of the vid. Spread this around, I am.

I don't get why people are so opposed to the police state, it's probably the only way to have true law and order in an otherwise ignorant society. Think of how great it would be if we had sterilization for ugly people, government mandated abortions for Dane Cook fans, swat teams on every block ready to strike at the first sight of a hippie drum circle. If people would stop protesting the police state and spend their energy on becoming part of it they too could position themselves with absolute power and corruption and set an entirely new standard for oligarchs the world over.

I guess that's too much to ask for though, whatever. Haters gonna hate.

Most officers in Toronto that I've encountered have always been overpaid bitches, with high egos and little brains.

My bro in law lives in Toronto, but I think he has better things to do and hang around in groups provoking cops. Even so, those cops are total fucking assholes.

I'm impartial, I think both sides deserve a kicking

The last minute is shocking. Total fucking scum. I don't agree with their pointless protests, but i agree even less with police acting like cunts in the name of "law".

If nobody protested we would have much more of an impact on the financial elitists and their waste of taxpayer money would be in the forefront. Instead they send a "black bloque" militia group to terrorize and mix in with the protesters to take everyones eyes off the real issues at hand and focus on the lame "violence of protesters" which I for one believe were paid off to do that.

I mean how often does someone run upto a cop car and set it on fire, AND get away with it... lol its a pure setup.

I actually hadn't seen that clip before and that is just ridiculous. I'm sure the chief will play it off stating that those people were causing problems earlier on or some bullshit. It was clear those people were doing nothing but peacefully protesting which is their right, like it or not....there are peaceful protests EVERY DAY in Toronto and cops never do this.

A lot of police around here are complete dicks and for what seams like no reason at all. I've had a female cop freak out on me once because my licence plate sticker was expired (and I actually had no idea it was). She had the nerve to say (in a loud angry voice) "Do you think you're better than me? I get my stickers replaced when they expire." Yeah because I think I am better than her when she is the one yelling and talking down to me as I am trying to be calm and respectful...(/rant)

I'm not saying all police are like this because there are really nice ones too but it pisses me off to think my tax money is going towards people that should be protecting us and instead treat us like dog meat.

An isolated, terrible albeit, incident in an overall very well organized event given everything.

...Friends of mine who lived down there and were outside, not protesting, during this all said you could tell the riot police (especially TO's - not as much Montreal's) were scared. Scared shitless. More than the protesters.

You have to remember this kind of stuff is commonplace for bigger US cities. Not Canadian cities. These guys have had a month of "training" to know what to do, when to react, etc. Obviously it's not even close to being enough.

Mistakes happen.

Now these officers are assholes - who knows what was going on before the video started - but regardless they should have serious actions taken against them.

Just don't try and paint the 100,000 RCMP and police officers as all part of an evil police state because of 10-20 people over-extended their "rights" as officers of the law.

As a side note I did send this to a friend of mine, Keith Ashfield, minister of national revenue. He's more angry at the whole event than anybody I know.

I don't think people are saying that it is like this all the time in Canada. However, they police were given "special" powers during the G20 summit, and you can see how the police act when they are given extra power. We know Canada is as much of a police state as the US, but we see what happens when they get too much power. Scary, especially the end.
